The Institute of Cancer Research

The Institute of Cancer Research

It’s hard to know what the future might bring but we do know that cancer is something that touches us all.  Over the past 100 years The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) has made some of the most important and ground-breaking discoveries in cancer research. Cancer patients worldwide are receiving life-saving treatments that were discovered and developed by us.

Over 83% of our expenditure directly supports our research activity and our scientists and clinicians are working daily in our labs – in Chelsea and Sutton, London – to make a real impact on cancer patients lives.   As one of the world’s leading cancer research institutes you can rest assured that by supporting the ICR you will help make the discoveries that defeat cancer and bring hope to future generations of people with cancer.

Registered Charity No. 534147

Which charities can I support?

Donations can be made to any national/local charity or recognised good cause such as schools and scout groups.

You might choose to donate to BT’s own charitable initiative, the BT Supporters’ Club, which seeks to transform the lives of young people through sport. Or you could choose to support one of our charity partners; Comic Relief, BBC Children in Need, ChildLine or Disasters Emergency Committee. Some people choose to support local causes like churches, hospices, schools or animal welfare schemes. Whatever charity you choose to support will receive more money through Payroll Giving than if you were to donate to them directly.

You can nominate more than one charity to benefit from your donations - and you can easily change the amount or nominated charities at any time.  If your chosen charity is not listed on this site you can still support them but please include the charity number so there is no delay in forwarding on your donation.  If there is a charity not listed that you would like to see here please email [email protected]
