The Connection at St Martins

The Connection at St Martins

We believe no one should have to sleep rough on London’s streets, and that everyone should get the support they need to find a place to call home.

The Connection at St Martin’s is located in the heart of London, next to St Martin-in-the-Fields church in Trafalgar Square. This is an area that sees some of the highest number of people rough sleeping in London.

We help people struggling with homelessness to move away from, and stay off the streets of London. Our Outreach Team go out on the streets each weekday to engage with those sleeping rough and encourage them to come and use our services.

At our day centre we welcome over 100 people a day to receive mental and physical medical care, food, showers, shelter during the day and support to find accommodation.

We build relationships and trust with people who may have been let down by support services in the past. We don’t give up on people and we support them every step of the way, no matter how tough their journey is.

Sadly homelessness is on the rise, with reports showing that over 10,000 people in London were listed as homeless in 2022-23. We need your support now more than ever to continue providing vital support and facilities to people who need it the most.

Which charities can I support?

Donations can be made to any national/local charity or recognised good cause such as schools and scout groups.

You might choose to donate to BT’s own charitable initiative, the BT Supporters’ Club, which seeks to transform the lives of young people through sport. Or you could choose to support one of our charity partners; Comic Relief, BBC Children in Need, ChildLine or Disasters Emergency Committee. Some people choose to support local causes like churches, hospices, schools or animal welfare schemes. Whatever charity you choose to support will receive more money through Payroll Giving than if you were to donate to them directly.

You can nominate more than one charity to benefit from your donations - and you can easily change the amount or nominated charities at any time.  If your chosen charity is not listed on this site you can still support them but please include the charity number so there is no delay in forwarding on your donation.  If there is a charity not listed that you would like to see here please email [email protected]
