Hope for Tomorrow
Hope for Tomorrow is a dedicated charity, bringing cancer care closer to patients’ homes via our Mobile Chemotherapy Units (MCUs).As a cancer charity, we understand that time is a crucial factor for patients, and in 2007 we launched the world’s first ever MCU to bring vital cancer care closer to patients, enabling them to spend more time with family, friends and loved ones.
We develop, build, provide and maintain MCUs to support patients who are going through Chemotherapy by alleviating the stresses and strains of travelling for appointments, along with reducing hospital waiting times.
Working in a unique partnership with the NHS, we now have 11 MCUs operational in Gloucestershire, Somerset, South Wiltshire, Hampshire, East Kent, Lincolnshire, North Wiltshire, Cornwall, West Suffolk, East Essex and London/ Surrey, with two reserve MCUs in place to ensure continuity of service during the maintenance schedule. We also provide a Nurses Support Vehicle with each MCU, which allows the nursing team to travel to and from the daily treatment locations.
Since the launch of the first MCU in 2007, the charity has saved patients a total of over 2,000,000 miles and over 170,000 hours of travel and waiting time.
The charity won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise – Innovation, in 2016. The Award is the UK’s highest accolade for business success, and was made in recognition of our achievements since the Founder, Christine Mills MBE, set up Hope for Tomorrow in 2003.

Which charities can I support?
Donations can be made to any national/local charity or recognised good cause such as schools and scout groups. You might choose to donate to BT’s own charitable initiative, the BT Supporters’ Club, which seeks to transform the lives of young people through sport. Or you could choose to support one of our charity partners; Comic Relief, BBC Children in Need, ChildLine or Disasters Emergency Committee. Some people choose to support local causes like churches, hospices, schools or animal welfare schemes. Whatever charity you choose to support will receive more money through Payroll Giving than if you were to donate to them directly.
You can nominate more than one charity to benefit from your donations - and you can easily change the amount or nominated charities at any time. If your chosen charity is not listed on this site you can still support them but please include the charity number so there is no delay in forwarding on your donation. If there is a charity not listed that you would like to see here please email [email protected]
