Cats Protection

Cats Protection

Our partners at Cats Protection want to create a society where every cat has their best possible life because they are protected, cared for, understood and valued by everyone.

Cats Protection is a movement of people championing the welfare of cats. They lead society in a richer understanding of all cats and care for those that need their help.

Cats Protection has been championing cats for 96 years. This includes helping over 157,000 cats and kittens every year – in 2022 they helped 400 cats a day. They have successfully campaigned for compulsory microchipping, are lobbying MPs about the licensing of air guns and cat breeding and a ban on snares. They are leading cat veterinary experts, with over 700 people from 16 countries attending the third annual cat behaviour conference, and have delivered over 930 cat welfare talks to over 25,000 people in 2022. They do an incredible amount and we support their efforts to help people see the world through cats’ eyes.

You can help support our work by making a regular donation through your pay – a monthly donation of £10 could provide food for one day for 50 cats in our care, or over the year your £120 donation could help us microchip 24 cats in our care.

Which charities can I support?

Donations can be made to any national/local charity or recognised good cause such as schools and scout groups.

You might choose to donate to BT’s own charitable initiative, the BT Supporters’ Club, which seeks to transform the lives of young people through sport. Or you could choose to support one of our charity partners; Comic Relief, BBC Children in Need, ChildLine or Disasters Emergency Committee. Some people choose to support local causes like churches, hospices, schools or animal welfare schemes. Whatever charity you choose to support will receive more money through Payroll Giving than if you were to donate to them directly.

You can nominate more than one charity to benefit from your donations - and you can easily change the amount or nominated charities at any time.  If your chosen charity is not listed on this site you can still support them but please include the charity number so there is no delay in forwarding on your donation.  If there is a charity not listed that you would like to see here please email [email protected]
