Action for Children

Action for Children

Every child should have a safe and happy childhood.

At Action for Children, we protect and support vulnerable children and young people across the UK. We work in 476 local community services, as well as in schools and online, and campaign for lasting change. Last year, we helped more than 387,000 children, young people and families.

In our nurseries and children’s centres, staff make sure children get the best start in life. Our foster, adoption and modern residential services find children safe and loving homes.

We protect those who have been abused or neglected, and help children who care for others or find themselves homeless. And innovative new projects like the Blues Programme give young people the help they need to look after their mental and emotional wellbeing.

We’ve been helping children and young people for 150 years. But we can only continue our work with your support.

Which charities can I support?

Donations can be made to any UK registered national/local charity or recognised good cause – including places of worship, schools, and foodbanks.

You can nominate more than one charity to benefit from your donations, and you can easily change the amount or nominated causes at any time.

If your chosen cause is not listed on this site, you can still support them. Just make sure to include their registered charity number so there is no delay in forwarding on your donation.

If you’d like to make a difference close to home, you can choose to support University of Manchester students and research, or donate to Manchester Museum. Just look for 'The University of Manchester' on the drop-down menu when making your donation.
