Childlife
About Childlife
Childlife is not your typical charity. Rather than supporting a single cause, we work through four partner charities to help children and families who are struggling to navigate a range of difficult and often heart-breaking challenges. For example, we help families to…
• Cope when their child is diagnosed or living with a life-threatening illness Via Acorns Children’s Hospice
• Overcome barriers that might otherwise stand in the way of opportunity
• Via the National Deaf Children’s Society
• Find hope in the face of a progressive and little-known medical condition
• Via Ataxia UK
• Benefit more widely from policies and programmes designed to give all children the chance to grow up safe and well
• Via the National Children’s Bureau
Our roots are in the Childlife consortium, established in 1992 as a way for smaller charities to fundraise collectively through payroll giving; that’s how our own small ‘family’ of charities first came together. We still exist today because we remain an efficient and valuable asset to our four partner charities. And because our supporters appreciate the opportunity to spread their gift across a range of good causes rather than settling on only one.

If your chosen charity is not listed on the online donation form or it is a specific area within the University of Edinburgh, you can still support them. Just make sure to include their name and charity number on the form
