Born Free Foundation

Celebrating 30 years of ‘Keeping Wildlife in the Wild’, the Born Free Foundation was founded in 1984 by the actors Bill Travers MBE and Virginia McKenna OBE, stars of the iconic film Born Free. It has grown to become a dynamic international wildlife charity, devoted to compassionate conservation and animal welfare. We take action worldwide to protect threatened species and stop animal suffering. We believe wildlife belongs in the wild and rescue animals from lives of misery in tiny cages and give them lifetime care.
