More than two million pensioners live below the poverty line in the UK, 700,000 older people suffer acute loneliness and half a million older people are facing some form of abuse right now. We offer various services to combat these appalling statistics. We also campaign on a number of issues including poverty, abuse and discrimination. What we do
Shelter is a charity that works to alleviate the distress caused by homelessness and bad housing.
We do this by giving advice, information and advocacy to people in housing need, and by campaigning for lasting political change to end the housing crisis for good.
