Roundabout Homeless Charity
Roundabout is South Yorkshire’s local youth housing charity providing shelter, support and life skills to young people aged 16-24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
When Roundabout first began in 1977, we operated a small emergency hostel accommodation for young people. Over forty years later, our strategic aim is to end youth homelessness in South Yorkshire.
Roundabout now supports over 250 young people living in accommodation every day, either provided by or supported by our charity. We have a hostel, residential projects in Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster and provide key services delivering comprehensive programmes of training, involvement and empowerment which help to break the cycle of homelessness and develop long term independent living skills.
We are strongly committed to preventing youth homelessness and deliver highly effective mediation and drop-in advice services as well as homeless education in schools. Our ground breaking Peer Education Project is delivered by trained volunteer Peer Educators who have experienced homelessness themselves.
Whilst our Homeless Prevention Service is there for anyone who needs support and advice, we recently found that not all vulnerable young people were coming to our drop-in to seek help. In 2018, Roundabout began to see rough sleepers in Sheffield who were aged under 25. These young people immediately became our priority, leading to us developing of a new street outreach team called Rapid Rehousing. We now have dedicated workers who actively go out into the community, identify homeless young people who need intensive support and help them to access accommodation and develop their long term living skills. So far this year, through their hard work and dedication, we have successfully housed every young person that we’ve found sleeping rough. Thank you to our supporters for enabling us to launch this service with their generous donations and to the Nationwide Foundation and Sheffield City Council for funding the service’s future.
Donate today to help give vulnerable young people in South Yorkshire a brighter future.

Our Vision
A world of protection and opportunity for children living alone and at risk on the streets.
Railway Children is an international children's charity. We fight for vulnerable children who live alone at risk on the streets, where they suffer abuse and exploitation.
In the UK, society often denies their existence, and in other countries the problem is so prevalent that it has become 'normal'.
They run away or are forced to leave homes where they suffer poverty, violence, abuse and neglect. They find themselves living on the streets because there is nowhere else to go and no one left to turn to. The problems they face on the streets are often even worse than those they endured at home. Every day we fight to change their story.
Railway Children race to reach children as soon as they arrive on the streets and intervene before an abuser can. Our pioneering work enables us to get to street children before the streets get to them.
