Blind Veterans UK

About us

Blind Veterans UK was formed in 1915 as the national charity to support ex-Service men and women suffering from severe sight loss.

We help our veterans learn vital life skills and give them the tools they need to be safe in their own homes. We do this by supplying free rehabilitation, training and support they need to live independent lives.
We also have a network of community support teams all over the UK who give our beneficiaries the rehabilitation and training they need, either in their own home or in their local area. We also have two specialist residential centres at Brighton and Llandudno.

There are many more veterans who need and deserve our help, and as we enter our second century of service, we remain committed to our belief that no one who has served our country should battle blindness alone.

Following a change to our articles Blind Veterans UK can now provide their specialist vision-rehabilitation support to those affected by war-like activity, including terrorist activities.

One consequence of this is the charity is now able to support the people of Ukraine by offering their expertise in both design and delivery of vision-impaired (VI) rehabilitation to those who have sustained blindness through war-like activity.
