POhWER

Who We Are

POhWER provide information, advice, support and advocacy to people who experience disability, vulnerability, distress and social exclusion. POhWER was established in 1996 by a group of people who were fighting social injustice and challenges in their lives. We still operate with these roots at the heart of everything we do; supporting marginalised, vulnerable and socially excluded people through our charitable advocacy work.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower people to have a voice and make a real difference to their lives. We do this by speaking for them when they can't and supporting them to speak for themselves when they can.
POhWER aims to enable all who need it to have a voice, to achieve empowerment and self-help so they win respect, uphold their rights and get their essential needs met. We focus on the most excluded members of society, so they are listened to when decisions are being made about them or the services that they need.

Last year we supported 500,000 people to uphold their rights. With your help,  POhWER can reach even more people who need advocacy to protect their rights, get their voice heard and access the support available. Read more about POhWER's impact.
